Legislative Record
2025 Session
This legislative session was marked by long days, late nights, and deep collaboration. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and deliver results for the community I love. Together with colleagues, advocates, and constituents, I sponsored and passed meaningful legislation that advances health, safety, affordability, and dignity for Coloradans across our state.
Below is a snapshot of what we accomplished this session:
HB25-1293 – Drug Overdose Education and Opioid Antagonists in Schools
Requires Colorado high schools to educate students about overdose risks and ensures access to naloxone. A powerful step in preventing youth overdose deaths.
HB25-1294 – Court Costs Assessed to Juveniles
Eliminates court fees (not restitution or victim's assistance) for youth in the justice system. This helps break cycles of debt and reduce barriers to rehabilitation.
SB25-034 – Voluntary Do-Not-Sell Firearms Waiver
Creates a voluntary system where individuals can restrict their own access to firearms during mental health crises, supporting suicide prevention through empowerment.
SB25-079 – CO Vending of Digital Assets Act
Establishes safeguards for cryptocurrency ATMs and improves consumer protections (especially seniors) in the growing digital asset marketplace.
SB25-118 – Health Insurance Prenatal Care No Cost Sharing
Ensures prenatal visits are covered without cost-sharing, reducing financial barriers to early and consistent maternal healthcare.
SB25-164 – Opioid Antagonist Availability & State Board of Health
Expands naloxone availability and empowers the State Board of Health to adopt policies that save lives in overdose situations.
SB25-196 – Insurance Coverage for Preventive Healthcare Services
Protects access to no-cost preventive care, like cancer screenings and immunizations—regardless of changing federal policies.
SJR25-014 – Recognizing Single Parent Day
Formally honors the strength and resilience of single parents in Colorado, including the sacrifices they make every day for their families.
Each of these policies moves Colorado toward a healthier, more just, and more compassionate future. I am proud of what we achieved this session and even more energized about the work ahead. Thank you to the community partners, advocates, and constituents whose voices and lived experiences made this progress possible.
